Set before me is this Young Adult Gothic fable. Two orphaned Irish siblings travel to England where they find work in an old Manor with a very odd family. And ….. someone or something else.

Even though this book was written with the young in mind, I found myself unable to stop turning the pages or from being just a little on edge. I love the dark atmosphere, and the characters are wonderful. Even the ones we’re not supposed to like. This is the kind of book to read out loud, at bedtime, to the children who love to travel through the night with the words they find at the end of a flashlight, beneath the covers, when they should be fast asleep.

Canadian born Jonathan Auxier teaches creative writing and children’s literature. He holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, and has been known to tell a joke or two. I read, somewhere, that he is a ‘struggling’ writer. Really? Struggling? Not any more!

Some Thoughts on the Book of Acts and Pauline Theology

The Whisper of God

"Let us be silent, so that we may hear the whisper of God" Ralph Waldo Emerson ~~~ Several years ago, I started writing down all the amazing ways God used my day to day activities, children, family, friends and nature to teach me. The more I wrote, the more I noticed God in my daily life. It became an exercise of the heart and grew my relationship with Christ in a way I had never experienced. I began to hear God whisper to my heart His desires and lessons for me. I hope that reading some of my stories will encourage you stop and listen for His whisper!
