JOURNAL ENTRY

7 Jun

Between our spirit and our soul there is a shadow. Within that shadow are the dreams we fall into during sleep: recollections of another life, a life meant to be forgotten. But every now and then, during our awareness, we catch a glimpse of that shadow. A shadow that is commonly known as déjà vu.

Some would have us believe that dreams are only a reflection of something that is experienced while awake. Perhaps. Perhaps instead, they are the memories caught in the matter of time, the matter of another life lived – set aside to live again.

The next time you find yourself inside the shadow try not to see what you expect to see.

I love this. There are of course the prosaic everyday dreams, where you almost shift the minutiae of the day into your recycle bin; there are the ‘personal unconscious repression dreams’ which are barely beneath consciousness anyway – where you are caught in your own states of anxiety, anger, desire, unhappiness, which is just the stuff you are feeling but might hide from showing; but THEN there are the ‘notice this’ dreams that are much larger and deeper than that superficial you, the dreams that feel ancient, the dreams that do what some poetry does – leave you with the sense of having been within an ocean of REALITY as opposed to the day to day small ephemeral reality. Transcendent dreams, I suppose. Ones which may speak to you over a lifetime.

The Whisper of God

"Let us be silent, so that we may hear the whisper of God" Ralph Waldo Emerson ~~~ Several years ago, I started writing down all the amazing ways God used my day to day activities, children, family, friends and nature to teach me. The more I wrote, the more I noticed God in my daily life. It became an exercise of the heart and grew my relationship with Christ in a way I had never experienced. I began to hear God whisper to my heart His desires and lessons for me. I hope that reading some of my stories will encourage you stop and listen for His whisper!
